My cup of Tea

Updated: Aug 16, 2021

This is one of the best feelings out of my dream list..

It is cloudy dusk time with light breeze. There are fluffy clouds, cooling down the heated sky. Here in a small town of Jaleswar in Odisha, I sit at my usual tea stall facing the block office. On the streets, there are many tiny roadside tea stalls. Two cement benches face each other. Many people come and go here in search of some respite from heat, stress, tension or busy life even.. There are men and kids coming occasionally at the stand post to fill water pots. Men from nearby settlements usually hover around the tea stalls early in the mornings and just when sun is about to set in the evenings.

The wafting smell of boiling tea straight from the stove mixed with the sparse steam lifts up in the surroundings. . The old man at the stall with his son is busy preparing paan and chai.. Sipping tea in traditional glass and eating locally made biscuits was refreshing for me in this small town of Jaleswar. Treasuring such moments with essence of rural life and old times is one of the most loved things I enjoy.. 🙂
