An unnoticed rendezvous

Updated: Aug 16, 2021

My daily routine these days is getting up fairy early in the morning, having breakfast, pooping, bathing and then getting ready to head towards a long day at the Computer Centre to only return in the night before bedtime. It gets very lazy and noisy in the room whole day long, as the most classes are off for 1st and 2nd year students. So it becomes difficult to study in the room pertaining to the above stated reasons.

I make my entry in the register after entering the computer centre. The computer centre is a huge room divided into two by a large vertical wooden plank which makes a 3/4th wall. Conventionally, the people who use PC occupy the half near the door and those who work on laptop occupy the other half facing the Ramdhara Lake. This side has less occupants all year round and thus is a peaceful place to study. It has large sliding windows with branches of trees touching them. Occasionally, birds peck at the window as though asking to be allowed inside.

Along with this, the room is fitted with 5 ACs, has plenty of fans and lights. The windows have thick curtains which makes it quite cosy in the afternoon for a quick nap. There is a couple in the front row, another one is in the last row, two guys occupy front rows in opposite sides of the passage and two girls sit on the opposite side of the passage, cross my sitting place.

There is one of those girls who interests me thoroughly. I’ve been into unaware noticing her since a month or so. I can now recognize her from a distance even in the dark. She is medium height, curly hair,, fair face and a charming smile. Her build is just perfect. She loves to mingle in few people and spends her day in the computer centre studying for entrance exams. It took me atleast 2 weeks to realize that I’ve been noticing her incessantly.

One fine day, me and my friend were discussing something important when he caught me red handed staring at her. He warned me not to stare at her as it made her feel uncomfortable. She was wearing a striped black and white top with blue mini skirt. It made me feel guilty deeply as I had made her feel uncomfortable. For the next few days, I tried not to notice her. But, my admiration for her didn’t fluctuate though.

On the new year eve, I found her exiting the jam session venue. In all the euphoria that was in the air, I wished her happy new year. To my surprise, she replied back with equal fervor.  Just today afternoon, my friend brought this to my notice that she too had started glancing towards me occasionally. It was little moment of strange joy. Hers is a personality which strangely charms me. I shan’t forget her at all. With only a few months left in hand for both of us, I feel this will remain as an unnoticed rendezvous, a memory for life. 🙂
